The Washington-based Danaher Corporation has acquired Gems Sensors, the leading worldwide manufacturer of pressure, level and flow devices, from IMO Industries.
The Danaher Corporation is a global manufacturer of a wide range of industrial and consumer products with strong brand names, proprietary technology and major market positions in two principal businesses: tools and components and process/environmental controls.
George M. Sherman, president and chief executive officer of the Danaher Corporation stated: "With its leading position in level and flow switches and liquid level indicators, Gems Sensors represents a very attractive addition to our instruments and controls group. We believe 'Gems' will enhance our position in the global market for industrial measurement and control devices".
Gems Sensors has established a strong presence throughout Europe and the USA during recent years. John Goodson, sales manager at Gems Sensors, UK, believes that: "the company's performance in terms of both product and building market share makes Gems Sensors an exceptional acquisition for Danaher. The continuous development of our thin film and CVD pressure instrumentation, combined with our comprehensive range of flow and level devices, effectively represents an ideal match with Danaher's existing product groups.
