Purpose – Provides details on the ten most influential companies. Design/methodology/approach – Puts forward that more important than a company’s assets is it ideas and the influence it wields. Presents Business Week’s list of the most influential companies; spotlights ten that have developed winning strategies in their particular industries and have made a lasting impact on consumers. Drawing on an advisory board of 14 academics, consultants and industry leaders, examines how the corporate landscape is changing. Identifies those companies that have dominated the corporate landscape over the decades from the 1950s onwards. Presents details of the chosen ten; looks at their business model; highlights their innovative products. Originality/value – Provides snapshots of the ten most influential companies.
