American Newspaper Comics: An Encyclopedic Reference Guide (RR 2013/211). An index and research guide to over 7,000 daily, weekly and Sunday comics that have appeared in US newspapers. Forms a useful companion to the biographical and historical entries in Goulart’s Encyclopedia of American Comics (1990).

Dictionary of Modern Proverbs (RR 2013/226). Another dictionary of proverbs, this one modest size (1,400 entries) and characterized by its focus on the “modern”.

Doollee.com (RR 2013/236). A free online play index put together by UK enthusiast Julian Oddy. Contains information for 43,000 playwrights and 146,000 plays, considerably in excess of the number in EBSCO’s Play Index.

Encyclopedia of Terrorism (RR 2013/217). A new encyclopedia of terrorism from ABC-Clio available in two volumes in its print version, more substantial than a number of competitors and not to be confused with several works with the same title including those from Facts on File (2002) (RR 2003/012) and Sage (2003) (RR 2004/073).

Princeton Encyclopedia of Islamic Political Thought (RR 2013/215). Despite the number of reference works that have appeared on Islam and related topics in recent years this work claims to be the first to specifically focus on Islamic political thought. Provides 400 plus entries of a page or more with 15 longer articles for key topics.

Routledge Encyclopedia of Civil War Biographies (RR 2013/242). Another Civil War reference source this one providing mainly short biographical entries with the emphasis on military officers from both the Union and Confederate states.

Weather Almanac (RR 2013/233). The latest edition of this standard US reference source now revamped following transfer from Gale to Wiley.
