TIONA 696, suerdurable titanium dioxide pigment

Keywords: Pigments, Titanium dioxide, Durability

Millennium Chemicals (NYSE-MCH) ("Millennium") announces the introduction of its Tiona 696 – which it believes to be the first titanium dioxide (TK 2) pigment to combine superdurability of silica- encapsulated products with the superior optical performance of zireonia-stabilized products.

According to Millennium, Tiona 696 has been specifically designed to give the highest possible optical performance – opacity, tinting strength, gloss and minimal gloss haze – with maximum exterior durability. Typical applications for the surface-treated pigment include coil coatings, powder coatings, OEM and automotive refinishing systems, marine and protective coatings, low VOC liquid industrial coatings, industrial maintenance coatings and organisole and plastisofs.

"Millennium is proud to introduce Tiona 696. Its combination of outstanding performance and cost efficiency offers advantages over traditional superdurable pigments to all functions of the coatings producer, from formulating and manufacturing to marketing and purchasing," said John Hall, marketing director – Global Coatings.
