Sirsi Corporation has announced that the Irish Agriculture and Food Development Authority (Teagasc) has selected Sirsi to improve service and collection management. Teagasc’s suite of Sirsi products include Unicorn Library Management System, iLink Online Scholar’s Portal, WorkFlows staff interface, including cataloguing, authority control, circulation, serials control and interlibrary loan. Teagasc is the national body in Ireland which provides integrated research, advisory and training services to the agriculture, food industry, and rural communities. The organisation has a network of eight specialist libraries covering food processing, dairying, beef, sheep, arable crops, horticulture, environmental production, economics, and rural development.

Sirsi and Brodart announce alliance

Sirsi Corporation has announced an alliance with Brodart that seeks to make acquisitions of library materials by Sirsi clients more effective. Both companies are working together to utilise the X12 standard format to simplify and expedite acquisitions, ordering and invoicing through electronic data interchange (EDI). Brodart’s 2.3 million title database provides access to timely and accurate information available on title status and availability. Once complete, the alliance with Brodart will allow Sirsi libraries electronically to order, invoice, and receive books and other materials quickly and more efficiently using the Unicorn Library Management System.
