Article Type: Editorial From: Policing: An International Journal of Police Strategies & Management, Volume 33, Issue 1
Welcome to Volume 33 of the journal. In this issue we present nine papers exploring a large variety of subjects related to policing. The papers in this issue do not fit into neat topical categories. Several papers examine perceptions of police and policing from the perspectives of both citizens and officers. Other papers present or discuss methods and processes aimed at improving police practices or institutionalising improved strategies. We are always pleased when we can include papers exploring policing topics and issues in different countries, and as usual, the contents of this issue come from around the world and represent a range of national and cultural settings for policing. We are proud of this issue and grateful for the contributions of our authors. We encourage our readers to submit articles for consideration.
In addition to these papers, this issue contains our feature sections of “Perspectives”, “Policing on the web”, and a book review. The “Perspectives” section in this issue was prepared by Daniel Lytle, and J.W. Carter has again prepared a “Policing on the web” review.
As always, we continue to strive to present the most recent thinking and research on policing topics, and to reflect the global perspective that has characterised the journal for so many years. We want to encourage our readers to participate in the journal through the submission of articles and book reviews and through service as manuscript reviewers. We ask anyone with comments or suggestions to feel free to contact us and look forward to hearing from you all.
