NanoKTN Launches Directory of UK Micro and Nanotechnology (MNT) Academics and Industrialists

Article Type: Industry news From: Microelectronics International, Volume 26, Issue 3

The Nanotechnology Knowledge Transfer Network (NanoKTN), one of the UK's primary knowledge-based networks for Micro and Nanotechnologies, has launched The Directory, an online guidebook to the UK's world-class MNT sector, featuring over 600 frontline academics and over 400 organisations active in nanotechnology in the UK.

The Directory, available for free to all NanoKTN members, enables users to increase their awareness of UK R&D facilities and services available, as well as offering the potential to identify possible collaborative partners with specific expertise and technology.

All entries in The Directory have full contact details and a system is in place to allow users to contact the organisation or individual directly.

The NanoKTN is encouraging any individuals or organisations that work in the UK MNT sector, to register as a member and ensure their organisation or academic expertise is listed.

The Directory not only raises the profile of all the organisations and individuals listed in it, by highlighting capabilities and ensuring potential collaborative partners are fully aware of their expertise and strengths, but it also offers opportunities for attracting commercial clients by displaying and promoting your know-how, facilities and services,” says Keith Robson, Theme Manager at the NanoKTN.

Through focus groups, events and services like The Directory, the NanoKTN aims to facilitate networking between businesses, the science base and individuals both in the UK and internationally, to enable innovation and knowledge transfer.

The Directory is used extensively by those looking for capabilities within the UK and visitors to the site come from not only within the UK, but from over 90 countries highlighting how The Directory raises the profile of UK MNT worldwide.

Membership to the NanoKTN is free of charge and all sectors of the supply chain are encouraged to register. For more information about how to join, please visit the web site: www.nanoktn.com
