The remarkable initiative of the academic scientific organization World Organization Systems and Cybernetics (WOSC) and Kybernetes, to commemorate the personality of Professor John Rose, a famous scientist (1917-2007), represents a scientific event at international level.

I am honored to be invited by WOSC-Kybernetes to take part together with other colleagues from abroad, in the commemoration of scientist John Rose life and scientific activity, presenting a scientific profile of a famous professor.

I took advantage for 60 years of scientific friendship with its famous professor since the 1960s of the last century, under the Cupola of Scientific Revolution of Cybernetics, Informatics and Computers. A profound thinker, famous scientist, Professor John Rose, has the great merit of propelling the new interdisciplinary science – cybernetics; creating the famous academic scientific organization “WOSC”. The professor organized the international Scientific Tribune WOSC, World Congresses of Cybernetics and Systems, which reached the 14th edition and initiated the issue of the first international review – Kybernetes – which broadcasts the image of cybernetics in the world, Journal of Cybernetics, Systems and Management Science. The professor was a skilled architect, builder and organizer of science in action, inuring science, excellent decision-making personality, inspired and dynamic in cybernetics His name remains encrusted on the memorial frontispiece of the monument Universal Science and Knowledge.

I knew the erudite Professor John Rose from the beginning of cybernetics pioneerdom and I joined his undertakings It was the time when this scholar of science had action thoughts, on what means to be used in order to draw attention of the world community about the importance of the new science cybernetics and succeeded through his organizational efforts to draw the attention of scientists towards cybernetics and systems which entered the patrimony of knowledge; the professor materialized his thoughts in the practical actions he carried out.

Scientist John Rose was a personality endowed with honesty and profound modesty, which I felt during our long-time friendship, for ever. Professor John Rose’s personality combined his human character, which sprang from discreetness and modesty. He was a very kind man, with an attractive dialogue, a pleasant companion, the symbols of his scientific personality.

Professor John Rose left us a rich scientific and institutional organizational inheritance of cybernetics and systems activity; we should solemnly take further the scientific inheritance he has left us to be administered and developed.

On the occasion of this event commemorating the life and activity of our venerable professor John Rose, I ask permission to bend down gratefully, in front of the memory of our dear friend and unforgettable Professor John Rose.
