Festschrift for Felix Geyer
Guest Editors: Bernard Scott, Vessela Misheva and Cor van Dijkum
The publishers of this journal, Emerald, its Editorial Advisory Board and the editors wish to thank the three guest editors of this Special Double Issue for compiling this Festschrift for Felix Geyer.
In their introduction to this work the guest editors tell us “How the festshrift came to be written” and include the extensive curriculum vitae of Geyer. It also includes details of his wide experience and involvement with sociocybernetics. This gives readers all the information needed to appreciate his major contribution to this special field and his enthusiasm and commitment for it.
The contributions included here were not only written to pay tribute to his role in sociocybernetics but also to highlight the field and to explain what its aims are and what it hopes to achieve.
Felix Geyer's list of publications detail his prolific contributions and includes many of the articles and papers he has published in Kybernetes. He has been associated with this journal since its early days and has been a guest editor. He received the Norbert Wiener Award for an outstanding paper published in Kybernetes, at a ceremony held in the Reform Club London, UK. Geyer is currently a member of the Editorial Advisory Board where his advice on all matters, especially systems science in sociology and other social sciences is particularly valued.
