Papers and discussion groups related to the major areas of activity by ISSS members, such as the knowledge area, trying to improve our understanding of systems; the application area, trying to improve the design and performance of systems; and the commitment area, trying to improve society, will be welcome.
To this latter area corresponds the general theme of the meeting: “The Potential Impact of Systemics on Society”. Nevertheless, other fields such as natural sciences, social sciences and management sciences will not be neglected, if presented from a systemic viewpoint.
As to the format or methodology of the Cancun meeting, we should have more discussion and less individually presented papers. Therefore, proposals regarding symposia, round table discussions and the like will be welcome. Nevertheless, rest assured that the legitimate requirements as to publications, justification of travel expenses and diffusion of one's ideas will be respected.
We all hope to see you in Cancun. Ken Bausch and Enrique Herrscher.
