Cybernetics and Systems in Romania

Professor Dr Manea Mànescu is a distinguished and leading member of the Kybernetes Editorial Advisory Board and we are particularly pleased to hear of the many honours he has received. They reflect on the excellence of both his own contributions to systems and cybernetics and on the standing, worldwide, of these disciplines.

We have received with pleasure communications from members of the Romanian Academy of Sciences that extol and outline some of his important and especially innovative contributions to our interdisciplinary fields. These have been acknowledged not only in his own country, but worldwide.

Publishing space does not, unfortunately, permit us to include here these remarkable testaments to a life's work given so spontaneously by such distinguished academicians, many of whom have known and worked with him for some 50 years.
