ReferNet: the European network of reference and expertise

ReferNet is a decentralized network that provides information on a wide range of developments in vocational education and training in the EU, by brining together the expertise of key organizations.

ReferNet has been set up by the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (Cedefop) to meet the growing demand for information that makes comparisons possible between European Union member states on their developments andpolicies. It encourages exchanges of information and promotes thecreation of partnerships. It provides consortium members with theopportunity to broaden their contacts with international organizationswithin and outside Europe.

ReferNet comprises a nationalconsortium in each EU member state made up of organizations that represent vocational education and training institutions. Each consortium is led by a national co-ordinator responsible for constructing the consortium and ensuring the network's tasks are performed satisfactorily.
