Article Type: News From: Industrial Robot: An International Journal, Volume 36, Issue 1

Applied Manufacturing Technologies, Inc. (AMT), a supplier of factory automation design, engineering and process consulting services today announced it will provide contracted implementation support for SHAFI, Inc.’s RELIABOT 2D and 3D Vision Guided Robotics software solutions. These services will include feasibility demonstrations, build support for systems integrators, and acceptance support at end-user sites. SHAFI, Inc. will continue development and enhancements for the standard RELIABOT software products, working with multiple vision and robot companies.

“Key AMT customers asked us to expand our support for SHAFI RELIABOT installations,” commented Joe Campbell, Chief Operating Officer of AMT. “We’ve worked with SHAFI software for years, and are happy to reach agreement to provide much-needed application and installation support to systems integrators, line builders and end-users.”

Adil Shafi, President and founder of SHAFI Inc. and architect of RELIABOT, is confident the agreement will expand the use of SHAFI software. “AMT’s engineering team has done an excellent job in making customers successful and we look forward to the continued expansion of RELIABOT 2D and 3D applications.”

Work will be executed by AMT’s recently expanded machine vision group, which specializes in inspection, gauging and 2D and 3D robot guidance applications. AMT maintains development cells in their Orion, MI headquarters, including robots from major manufacturers.
