Cincinnati Milacron, a leading producer of injection moulding machines, has introduced the Roboshot SiB (Plate 2).

The machine is an all-electric powered moulder with a Fanuc robot fully integrated into the design. The package is delivered to the customer as “ready to run”, complete with artificial-intelligence anti-collision project for protection of end-of-arm or mould.

Designed for medical and packaging component applications, the compact design fits into lower ceiling facilities. The machine/robot requires only 2,470 mm of ceiling clearance. The all-electric design is ideal for clean room operations, as it requires no hydraulics or lubrication fluids.

Roboshot machines with integrated robot are available in 55 and 110 ton designs. The robot is a five-axis unit with 1,200 or 1,700 mm of traverse, depending on the mounting location. The payload capacity of the robot is 5 kg. The robot features very fast movement and can remove moulded parts at a rate of just 0.5s/700 mm of travel.

To facilitate shipment or relocation of the machine, the robot folds completely into the footprint of the moulding machine. More information is available at www.plastics.milacron.com
