This invention presents a tele-operated intelligent robot system comprising a control center, a robot, and communications apparatus between the two. The robot is controlled by the operator moving to generate commands to which the robot responds to. The robot generates sensory signals in response to its interaction with the environment and transmits these signals to actuators that provide the operator with the same sensory feelings.

In one embodiment of the invention, the operator occupies a command chair with an exoskeletal arm that is secured to the back of the chair. The operator views the robot environment through a video screen and exerts control in response to views presented on the screen. The communication system sends signals to the operator glove attached to the exoskeletal arm, in response to conditions at the robot site prompting the operator to take appropriate action.
