Does IT improve productivity?

Article Type: News From: International Journal of Productivity and Performance Management, Volume 57, Issue 4.

This is a trick question. South Korea’s labour productivity in manufacturing moved up sharply in the third quarter of 2007, fuelled largely by solid growth in information technology (IT). The IT manufacturing industry is very important to South Korea and labour productivity in the IT manufacturing sector grew by 25 per cent in the June-September 2007 period and continues to grow, albeit at a lower rate.

The moral is…don’t deploy IT, MAKE it.
