Similarly, many large organisations seem to be imbued with a form of collective cynicism. Asking such an organisation to transform itself is a recipe for disaster. Though a transformation model may be followed, that cynicism will prevent many members of the organisation from wholeheartedly embracing the desired change. If a paradigm shift in performance is the aim, the cynicism must be removed – or controlled – first. Suggestions from readers as to how to remove cynicism from a large organisation will be welcomed – I am willing to share the proceeds from the resulting best-seller!
