Recycling to work

From August 2004 British businesses have to reuse and recycle 100 per cent of their end-of-life electrical equipment under the EU’s Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE) 2003 Directive. MAXITECH.BIZ is working with five London councils and the businesses within their boroughs to re-use such equipment by reconditioning it and then providing it, at low cost, to charities and individuals with low incomes, start-up businesses and other groups that can benefit from this socially and environmentally responsible scheme. This provides an attractive and responsible alternative to businesses. Equipment that cannot be reused can be taken apart and only those parts that cannot be recycled are then disposed of in the most environmentally friendly way possible. See www.maxitech.biz for more information.
