Italian expansion

Schenker’s expansion of logistics capacities in Peschiera Borromeo in south Milan increases overall throughput in one of Italy’s most important economic regions. The new facilities cover a range of transportation methods. For example, the new logistics terminal for land transport houses an additional 5,000m2 suitable for a wide range of complex services, with 48 loading/unloading ramps and 1,200m2 of office space. Alongside the gateway for land transport, the airfreight import and export section also boasts a facility with a total storage space of 5,500m2. This building also houses the Trade Fairs & Exhibitions unit as well as the head office for Italy. The sea freight department is in the process of moving into the former land transport terminal, currently being renovated and comprising 3,500m2 of warehouse space and 28 loading/unloading ramps specifically for this business segment.
