Special issue on energy sector management issues in China

Article Type: Editorial From: International Journal of Energy Sector Management, Volume 3, Issue 1

At the onset of the third year, we, as the Editors of the journal, would like to thank all our readers and contributors for their continued support to the journal. Without your support and patronage, it would not be possible to continue this journal. Simultaneously, we are introducing some changes that we believe would streamline the publication process and improve the quality of the journal. As you would notice, the Editorial team as well as the Editorial Advisory Board has undergone a review at the end of the second year. We now have a very supportive team, with committed members. We are very hopeful that the online manuscript submission system will be available and operational in 2009. The preparation for its introduction is now underway. We also have plans to bring the journal within the purview of journal indexing by Thomson Scientific so as to be able to ascertain its impact factor. We are in the process of ascertaining the requirements for this.

As planned last year, we are focusing on India and China’s energy sector this year. This was decided based on the growing importance of these two developing countries in the global energy scene. We are delighted to present the first issue of the third volume as a special issue on China, while the special issue on India will follow. The special issue has been edited by Professor Wenke Han, Director General of the Energy Research Institute in China. He was supported by Ms Songli Zhu and Prof. Jianguo Zhang, who have worked over the past year to call for papers, review them and finally select a set of five papers covering various issues and aspects of the Chinese energy scene. We sincerely thank Professor Han and his team for their efforts in bringing together this issue.

We hope you will enjoy reading this issue.
