The wider view from a narrow boat

A UK public-relations and marketing-communications company ventured on to a narrow boat for a dynamic team-building day with a difference.

After a crash course in the dos and don’ts of boating, the Chazbrooks Communications (CBC) team was let loose on the River Wey in Guildford, Surrey, with each person responsible for a different aspect of the task at hand. The team worked together to navigate locks and tunnels, before docking at a riverside pub in Guildford for a team lunch, where the team reflected on recent PR campaigns and brainstormed creative ideas.

Mandy Brooks, CBC managing director, said: “CBC recognizes that its people are its main asset, and that team building is vital to develop a strong, motivated workforce. We are committed to offering our employees a friendly, and highly supportive working environment, and to making them feel valued both as employees and as individuals.”

The company has won a Best of Business award for its commitment to learning, and has been recognized as an Investor in People.
