Insights Training and Development launched the Insights Discovery psychometric system at the British Business Psychology conference.

Insights was founded in 1988, by father-and-son team, Andi and Andrew Lothian. The Insights Discovery system, based on the work of Carl G. Jung, has taken seven years to fully develop. The system involves the use of four base colours, red, blue, yellow and green, that Jung used to denote psychic energies. These colours give rise to the eight main personality types, that reflect an individual's preferences. The system offers users insights into themselves and their interpersonal interactions.

Three papers were presented at the British Business Psychology conference in support of the system:

Andi Lothian, chairman of Insights, presented the paper, "DISC and most/least only questionnaires: Does an alternative scoring system generate more accurate outputs?". Very different results emerge from the two methods of scoring psychometrics. This paper raised the question as to which method best represents the likely behaviour of the individual.

Jeff Davis, Insights' Jungian psychologist, presented the paper, "Jungian preferences: a model for innovative workplace applications". This paper suggested that, in order to reach lasting levels of change, it is necessary to give careful consideration to all of the Jungian workplace preferences in order to embrace new and constructive change in personality development.

Dr Monika Stumpf, from the University of Innsbruck, presented her paper on "Team management by cognitive preferences". This paper examined how each team member will be more successful the better they use their personal strengths and knowledge of type.

Andrew Lothian, Insights' chief executive, also presented a workshop on "Insights into managing team dynamics". This sought to help delegates appreciate themselves and their strengths and weaknesses. It also aimed to help delegates blend these strengths and weaknesses to enhance productivity, effectiveness and communication.

Insights Training and Development Ltd offers people solutions to organizations worldwide via a network of consultants and licencees. The Insights Discovery system includes among its users organizations such as British Airways, NatWest Group, Mars, Novartis, Axa Sun Life and Lilly Pharmaceutical.
