Facilities Management Legal Update Seminar

Facilities Management Legal Update Seminar

2 February 1999, Manchester; further events will follow in Leeds and London

With the fear of recession often comes the fear of expensive litigation as a result of mismanaged and panicky company restructures and shakedowns. Letting people go, relocating offices, or just cutting back on budgets can lead to an increased liability for employers, resulting from either negligence or ignorance.

In order to help keep on top of the law, how it affects businesses and their employees, and how to avoid embarassing litigation, Asset Information has launched the Facilities Management Legal Update Seminar programme for 1999. Building on the success of its monthly legal information bulletin, Asset Information has developed the seminar programme to reflect the needs and wants of facilities managers everywhere.

Research suggests that when it comes to seminars, managers want them to be low cost and broad-ranging. They would also prefer the events to be held regionally, in order to avoid the extra cost of travelling time and expenses. The Facilities Management Legal Update Seminars provide just that.

The day-long seminars will cover a broad range of the legal issues facing every company. It will look at the responsibilities of organizations for their staff, their premises, the health and safety of all, and environment, construction, information technology and contract law. Not only will they give a concise and informative overview of current legislation, but they will highlight new laws on the horizon and outlines their implications. The informal presentation of the seminars will culminate in question and answers sessions that are directed from the floor.

Brian Holmes, Marketing Director of Asset Information, says:

In a world where businesses glibly promise to listen to their customers, it is satisfying to be in a position to offer our customers what they truly want. Not only that, but the chance to work further with Masons Solicitors is an added bonus.

Produced in association with Masons Solicitors, the seminar programme kicks off in Manchester, with Masons hosting the first event at their prestigious new offices in Barbirolli Square.

Andrew Hibbert, Managing Partner of Masons Solicitors in Manchester, adds:

This range of seminars helps to consolidate the position of Masons as a leading supplier of construction, PFI and facilities management legal services. We are particularly looking forward to hosting the first one in Manchester.

The cost is £195 for the full day including lunch. For booking and further details contact Debbie Meadows on +44 (0)1223 511902.
