John Darling is the Distinguished Professor of Marketing and Management at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri USA. During the spring of 2003 he is serving as a Visiting Professor of Marketing at Southwest Texas State University. Each September for the past ten years, he has also served as a Distinguished Visiting Professor of International Marketing at the Helsinki (Finland) School of Economics. As an internationally known scholar, lecturer, and consultant, he is the author or co-author of 12 books and monographs, and over 250 articles in academic and professional journals. He holds a BS and MS from the University of Alabama, a PhD from the University of Illinois, and honorary doctorates from Chung Yuan Christian University in Taiwan, and the Helsinki School of Economics. He serves on the editorial review board for several academic journals; and has served as a consultant to numerous international corporations including AT&T, Citibank, Delta Airlines, Ford, Holiday Inns, Nokia, Kone Elevator, Pizza Hut, and Texas Instruments. His biographical reference has appeared in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, and Who's Who in the World. He enjoys the outdoors, especially golf and tennis. He and is wife, Melva, have three married children and eight grandchildren.
James E. Puetz is Associate Professor Marketing, Helzberg School of Management, Rockhurst University. He is currently the Director of Assessment, a member of the Faculty Senate and its steering committee, and a member of the University Curriculum Committee. He will become President of the Society for Case Research in March 2003. The SCR is a national society for the research, development, and use of business case studies for teaching within academic and corporate business programs.
