Abstract

West Sussex County Library in Chichester is believed to be the first library in Britain able to interrogate its loans file on‐line. This ability was mentioned briefly by Mr. H. K. Gordon Bearman, West Sussex County Librarian, in his article in the previous issue of PROGRAM, and in order to find out more about this interesting development, I went along to Chichester to see for myself.
