Group Communications
Abstract
The idea that computer‐based activities and facilities might be usefully shared arises quite naturally once an organization has many computers in operation. The first step is to physically interconnect the computers with a local network. This allows shared use of common file storage, printers, modems and other equipment. The local network also opens the way to closer communication between network users.
