Abstract

UK based Hermetronics plc has announced a range of hermetic packages, suitable for microwave circuit operation at up to 30 GHz. The high operating frequency of the RF30 range of packages has been accomplished by utilising the company's proprietary, UK developed, HERM 1 toughened glass technology. The operating frequency and high thermal conductivity make them particularly suitable for packaging MMIC (Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit) devices used in rf amplifiers, attenuators and switches. In addition to the range of standard packages, Hermetronics' CAD design capability enables RF30 packages to be designed to individual customer requirements.
