Abstract

Today, more than ever, an essential element of any corporate growth strategy is growth through acquisition. Not since the turn of the century has the economy seen such a massive restructuring. And the current tidal wave of mergers and acquisitions is deeper and wider than anything experienced in the past. In recent years, record M&A activity has exceeded $1 trillion per year. Whole industries are consolidating at a rate and a scale that is off the chart of historical experience.
