Forbidden fruit

Abstract

To illustrate the level of fiction being produced by some ‘reputable’ publishers in the year 1974, I once quoted the following extract from the TLS review (3 May 74) of Molly Parkin's novel (‘utterly lacking in style, wit and intelligence’) Love: all. It is well worth repeating:
