Aircraft Gears Made in Half the Time

Abstract

A computer‐controlled gear generator has largely taken over from conventional machines for the production of aircraft gears at Lucas Aerospace, Hemel Hempstead. It means that gears can be produced faster, and in smaller batches to meet just‐in‐time manufacturing requirements.
