Abstract
British Aerospace, Bristol, has achieved savings in the region of £100,000 by having one of its vital machine tools rebuilt instead of buying new. The machine concerned is a 15‐year old French‐built GSP CN10 bridge‐type long‐bed jig borer with an 8ft by 5ft table. For just £54,000 it was refurbished by H & M Machinery Ltd, Kingston‐upon‐Hull to bring it to a standard of operation, design and performance comparable with any equivalent new model BAe considered.
