Large Structural Castings for the World's Airfleets

Abstract

In 1983, Howmet Turbine Components Corporation (HTCC) completed a major diversification and expansion programme that has led to full‐scale production of larger titanium and superalloy structural castings for use in the new generation of engines and aircraft. The company's decision to enter this market was made in response to the expressed need of leading aircraft engine manufacturers for the advanced technology and production capability required to support their present and future programmes.
