Abstract
“If we are to bear the ever increasing cost of engine and airframe development and meet the competition from the United States and elsewhere, we must move from ad hoc collaboration on specific projects towards an integrated European aircraft industry, which pulls together in the most efficient way the technical, financial and managerial contribution which each country can make …”, declared Michael Heseltine, Minister for Aerospace, at Toulouse during the joint roll‐out ceremony for Concorde 02 and the A 300 B Airbus.
