Abstract
The recovery, in 1966, of a DC 8 at Heathrow, was one of the first examples of using two prototype 25 ton pneumatic elevators. They provided the main lift while the airport's own 12 ton bags acted as stabilisers. The elevator bags are constructed of Neoprene/nylon with an easily portable inflation and compressor system and made by RFD‐GQ Pneumatic Elevator Systems.
