Ear‐to‐ground
Abstract
A report received in mid‐April of a successful ejection brings the total number of lives saved in Martin‐Baker ejection seats to 2,000. The first emergency ejection occurred on 20th May, 1949 when Mr J. O. Lancaster, test pilot, ejected from an AW.52 research aircraft. The ejection was completely successful and Mr Lancaster landed safely.
