Abstract
SINCE it first flew on December 15 last year the first Garrett‐engined Skyvan, together with a second which flew on January 20th, had clocked some 70 hours flying time by the end of January. This is no mean achievement considering the Christmas break and generally bad weather during this period. The success of the aircraft and its new engine in the air has proved ample justification for a number of decisions forced on Shorts during the past twelve months.
