Abstract
The Twenty‐Ninth Annual Report of the Air Registration Board by Lord Kings Norton was published towards the end of July and made some pertinent remarks on the progress towards automatic landings. The Report recalled that the Hawker Siddeley Trident after the approval of its autoflare system on June 3, 1965, became the first aircraft in the world to use automatic control to touchdown while carrying fare‐paying passengers.
