Abstract
BOTH Pan American and Sperry Gyroscope Company underlined their positions as world leaders in commercial aviation and precision instrumentation respectively when they announced in July of this year that Pan American World Airways are to equip their entire fleet of Boeing aircraft, totalling 55 airliners, with Sperry SGN‐10 inertial navigation and guidance systems. This contract is said to be worth in the region of £4½ million and involves provision for two inertial guidance systems in each aircraft.
