Abstract
WHEN the Italian Air Ministry decided to build a research station at Guidonia for the study of high speeds, work of this kind had already been initiated at the main aerodynamical centres throughout the world, but as a rule the apparatus had been made by means of adaptations and expedients and in no case had the problem been satisfactorily solved.
