Two New French Seaplanes: Lioré et Olivier Flying Boats for the South Atlantic and Trans‐Mediterranean Services
Abstract
THE Etablissements Lioré et Olivier, whose plant is located at Argenteuil, near Paris, have completed tests on two new flying boats of interest. These are the LeO H 27 and the LeO H 24‐2, both of which have the same aerodynamic characteristics and are derivations of the LeO H 24, built in 1929 as an experimental type. The H 27 has been built for trans‐Atlantic flights to South America, and will shortly be prepared for its first ocean flight over the route of the old Compagnie Aéropostale. The H 24‐2 was built as a transport machine for the Air France trans‐Mediterranean Service, and after tests at Antibes has already been placed in service between Marseilles and Algeria.
