Can Management Buyouts Give Better Performance than Worker Cooperation?
Abstract
Management buyouts face much rosier prospects than the small wave of co‐operative ventures begun in the mid 1970s. Given that management are prepared to purchase a company, perhaps also offering shares to the workforce, this indicates that they believe it technically possible to run a business more effectively.
