Abstract

On Using the Network… Considerations for Training. The Network. It can sound so ominous, so intimidating, and so ambiguous. No small wonder since it can include anything from a small local area network connecting CD‐ROMs in a library, to a larger campus‐wide system that ties together many local computing resources along with the online catalog, to the Internet with all its links to computing resources worldwide. To add to the complexity, users can dial‐in remotely, from their offices, labs, or homes using a variety of software and hardware.
