THE QUANTITATIVE EVALUATION OF REGIONAL UNION CATALOGUES

Abstract

A comparison is made between systems of several union catalogues and of a single union catalogue in terms of costs and performance, with frequent reference to the British system. Multiple union catalogue systems are shown to be necessarily slower and more expensive.
