NOTATIONAL SYMBOLS IN CLASSIFICATION PART V: SIGNPOSTED AND RETROACTIVE NOTATION, AND PART VI: PRONOUNCEABLE RETROACTIVE ORDINAL NOTATION
Abstract
In Part III of this series, some calculations were given showing that under certain circumstances retroactive notation gives shorter symbols for compound subjects than does the use of facet signposts. In the present paper these calculations are extended and generalized.
