ISO'S INCREASINGLY COMMON DENOMINATORS
Abstract
At the beginning of 1993 adoption of the ISO 9000 family of quality management system standards was largely confined to western Europe. By the end of the decade the number of certificates issued has multiplied tenfold and encompasses 143 countries. As well as chronicling this global contagion, the latest ISO Survey of ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 Certificates introduces a new classification of the data which adds an industrial perspective to its geographical analysis.
