The C‐Scan pipeline survey system — a new approach to coating surveys on buried pipelines
Abstract
There are an estimated two million kilometres of buried steel gas transmission pipelines around the world — all potentially liable to corrosive attack from the surrounding soil. External corrosion is recognised as the greatest single cause of catastrophic pipeline failure.
