Abstract

In this article, prepared specially for us by a member of the staff of the Paint Research Station, the author discusses the selection of paints for the finishing of machinery: the two fundamental requirements for such coatings are long‐term protection from corrosion and an attractive, useful appearance. In the following notes it is assumed that very careful thought has been given to both surface cleaning and pretreatment, as poor workmanship or faulty choice could seriously affect the quality of the final finish.
