Abstract

RUBBER, particularly in its synthetic forms, is playing an essential part in the prevention of corrosion in industry. Although probably more interest has been focused on the development of coatings containing rubber in one form or another, rubber has established itself firmly as a solid‐applied lining or covering material for mild steel structures, cast iron and wooden structures and for concrete. The manufacturers and users of heavy chemicals, the dyestuffs and paper trades particularly, have been large‐scale users for plant protection.
