Abstract
Lead‐sheathed Cables Meeting. Corrosion problems and experiences with lead‐sheathed power cables were discussed on January 25 at an informal meeting of cable technologists. At the offices of the Lead Development Association in London, scientists of the physical chemistry section of the Central Electricity Research Laboratories introduced the subject. They dealt with some fundamental aspects of lead corrosion, the types of lead sheath corrosion met in practice, and the problems of correlating service behaviour with field trials and laboratory investigations. A lively discussion centred mainly on bacterial and stray‐current corrosion. An account of the meeting will be published by the L.D.A., 34 Berkeley Square, London, W.1.
