Vapour‐phase Inhibition of Atmospheric Corrosion
Abstract
Methods for combating atmospheric corrosion are various, but until recently most have depended upon preventing air and moisture from contacting metal surfaces. Vapour‐phase inhibitors are a somewhat different approach. The metal article and the corrosion inhibitor are simply placed in close proximity and the protective vapours of the inhibitor surround the item. This article explains what these inhibitors are, how they work, and where they are used.
